Despite being known as a stronghold of Christian life and culture, even rural churches may struggle with the same decline that is facing churches across North America. Mission Strategist Luke Edwards points out that many in rural areas are “disaffiliated Christians” who might be open to a form of church that better fits their lifestyle and interests.

But starting a Fresh Expression can be daunting. In this video, Luke suggests three questions every rural church leader can ask as they pursue this strategy.

  • Where do people gather?
  • What do people care about?
  • What are people doing in their free time?

What have you seen in your town or region? What steps could you take to research and ponder these questions?
