Any cursory reading of the book of Acts reveals that the prime initiator of mission in the Church is the Holy Spirit. In fact, by pointing the church toward Jesus Christ and going ahead of us into the world, the Spirit is revealed as not only the prime initiator, but the central agent of God’s action in the world. Yet, Church leaders often struggle to join the Spirit’s work in the world; and even more so, to equip their congregations to follow the Spirit. Alan helps us understand our role in discerning where the Holy Spirit is working and to find the open doors in our relationships and communities.
