In a Christian subculture accustomed to talking about immortality of saved souls, it’s difficult to get our bodies back in the room. As children of the resurrection whose gospel hope is life as renewed human beings in God’s renewed heaven and earth, only embodied image-bearers, full of the Spirit, are in Christ. Paul describes this life of God’s children, born of and shaped by the Spirit, as conformity to the image of the Son – the new firstborn ‘Adam’ in God’s Kingdom. We will consider what conformity to Jesus looks like, tending to our restored humanity both corporately and individually, on our way to final renewal.
