We are ministering in a transitional age in which our existing churches still have an important role in the mission of God – and yet an increasing percentage of people are simultaneously beyond the reach of the church as we know it. How do our local congregations solve the challenge of mission in our time? They solve it through the power of AND. At the heart of Fresh Expressions is a belief that we must be attentive to the church where it is and to the growth of the church where it is not yet. In fact, it is the integration of the inherited church and the incarnational church, the gathered church and the scattered church, which holds the greatest promise for gospel mission in our day.
