At AND: Being the Church at church at Home and Everywhere In Between, you’ll have the opportunity to learn from women and men who have helped make fresh expressions of Church a growing worldwide phenomenon. We’re excited that pastor, author and dynamical speaker Jo Saxton is joining as a featured speaker.
Jo brings verve and wit to every audience and has been blessed with a platform that ministers in ways that clearly import the joyous heart of the Kingdom of Christ. She and her husband, Chris, are co-pastors at Mission Point Church just outside of Minneapolis, Minnesota, a church which Jo describes as “a gathering of missional communities, continually discovering that when it comes to church – Sunday is not the main event, life is.” Their “simple vision is to follow Jesus, Share Life, and by God’s grace…change the world.”
Which they have been doing a lot of. Since 2009, Jo has served as a director of 3DM, a ministry that helps churches lead with a focus on discipleship and mission. She is also on the board of advisors for Today’s Christian Woman.
In Sheffield, England, Jo served on the pastoral staff of St. Thomas Crookes, a thriving church that helped give birth to much of what has shaped the Fresh Expressions movement in the UK. Her heart and wisdom combine to provide a dynamic missional pulse with a discipleship core. “I’m passionate about seeing people discover how Jesus transforms our lives and gives our lives purpose,” she says, adding, “I love talking about the kind of discipleship that gets down in the deep stuff of life and turns you around. I love talking about missional living and our lives as sent ones serving a broken world.”
