The US Fresh Expressions team will be at Missio Alliance North American Gathering on May 7-9 in Alexandria, Virginia.

We hope you’ll join us. Here’s why:

An enormous opportunity stands before the North American Church – one that stands to dramatically impact the shape and trajectory of Christian mission in our day. That opportunity is reclaiming the place of the resurrection as central to how we understand our identity as human beings made – and remade! – in the image of Christ.

Being “in Christ” is not a religious designation. It conveys our incorporation into Christ’s Body, God’s new humanity! The implications of receiving this adoption into God’s family are vast.

Reflecting the new humanity made possible in Jesus’ resurrection entails a new self-identity, new ways of being in the world as God’s people, and much more. In this session we’ll consider key dimensions of this biblical theme in relation to some of the most pressing challenges facing the mission of the Church today.

The Missio Alliance gathering is a common space for the whole church to reflect on what it means to become the new humanity shaped by the power of the Risen Christ.

It’s anchored by conversations grounded in theology and practice.

At the gathering you’ll interact with a host of presenters and session leaders including Brenda Salter McNeil of Seattle Pacific University and Tim Soerens of The Parish Collective;  Roger Olsen of Baylor University and Nikki-Toyoma Szeto if International Justice Mission; Ben Witherington of Asbury Seminary and Don Coleman of East End Fellowship.

We’ll look at what the resurrection means for us as individuals and as a society as we become #trulyhuman.

Friends of Fresh Expressions can sign up today using the FXMissio2015 for $44 off the conference fee.

We look forward to seeing you in May.
