Fresh Expression Incubators

Monthly workshops that spark imagination and equip you to design and launch Fresh Expressions of Church uniquely shaped for your community

Discover. Design. Do

Do you feel a spark of possibility for a Fresh Expression of Church—something outside the walls, uniquely shaped for your community? Whether your imagination leans toward a House Church, Recovery Church, Arts Church, Outdoors Church, Recreation Church, or another creative gathering, this 2.5-hour workshopping session will help you move from dream to first steps.

Each session is a guided incubator designed to:
Clarify your context and audience – Who are you called to? Where are relationships already forming?
Shape a mission that makes sense on the ground – How does the gospel speak uniquely into this space?
Learn from leaders in the field – Hear real stories, best practices, and honest lessons from those already leading similar Fresh Expressions.
Discern next steps and take action – Develop a simple, Spirit-led plan for getting started in your community.

Whether you’re dreaming of a coffee shop gathering, a trail-based worship circle, or a living room filled with neighbors sharing life and faith, these sessions will help you name it, shape it, and start it.

Come with a spark of an idea—leave with clarity, encouragement, and a plan.

Recovery Church

You care deeply about people in your community who are fighting the pull of addiction. You’ve seen the courage it takes to pursue recovery. You know the importance of safe, supportive community. And maybe you’ve wondered: Could our church be part of that kind of healing space?

But you also know your limits. You’re not experts in recovery. You don’t want to overstep or do harm. You don’t want to force faith conversations—yet you long to create spaces where curiosity about a “higher power” can be explored with honesty and freedom.

The Recovery Incubator is designed for churches just like yours—ready to explore these questions, imagine what's possible, and learn from those who have walked this path before. Together, we'll help you discover how to show up in ways that are natural, trustworthy, and life-giving.

Arts

You may be noticing a quiet hunger for beauty in the world around us. A curiosity about meaning that doesn’t always come through words, but through images, color, texture, and form. And maybe you’ve wondered whether a creative God might be inviting your church to cultivate a space where creativity and spirituality can be explored side by side.

The Arts Incubator will help you imagine environments where creativity and curiosity can flourish—and discover how community can deepen through shared artistic practice and storytelling.

Just as a sculptor sees possibility within stone and begins to shape it, we'll help you discern the kind of creative community God may be forming in your unique setting—and how to begin.

Outdoors

You may feel most alive outside. On a trail, in a garden, on the water, or along a long ride. And you may be noticing something else—these spaces often open people up to conversation and awe. Maybe you’ve wondered whether God might be inviting your church to cultivate community in these spaces—where people can connect, explore, and experience faith in the rhythms of the outdoors.

The Outdoors Incubator will help you imagine what it could look like to form community through shared outdoor experiences like hiking, gardening, kayaking, cycling, and more—and discover how spiritual curiosity can emerge naturally along the way. Together, we’ll discern the natural connecting points, passions, and ripe opportunities that are in front of you, giving you focus and tangible next steps for actively exploring community and faith in the great outdoors.
